Earl Yoder

Earl Ray Yoder died May 16, 2021. He was born January 30, 1927 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Earl’s father passed away when Earl was six years old, leaving his mother with him and two younger brothers. He went to live at Hershey Orphanage and attended Milton Hershey Industrial School in Hershey, Pennsylvania until he reached 18 years of age.

He proudly served our country in the United States Army in Germany. In 1963, he was employed with Mack Trucks in Hagerstown, Maryland and retired from there in 1987. He enjoyed hunting deer, bear, and turkey in Potter County, Pennsylvania, fishing in the Susquehanna River and Lake Okeechobee, and playing golf.

Mr. Yoder was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Yoder and Thomas Yoder.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cynthia Yoder; sons, Larry R. Yoder (Susan) of Avon Park, Florida and David A. Yoder of Hagerstown, Maryland; daughter, Valerie Goetz of Green Castle, Pennsylvania; and sister, Debbie Shoemaker (Terry) of Mary Esther, Florida.

Memorial donations may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice or Okeechobee First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
