Diane Ford, J.D. ’14, Academic Excellence

Diane is a native of Brooklyn, New York, but she calls many places home. During her time at Milton Hershey School, Diane received the Most Nearly Ideal Senior Award. After graduation, she moved to North Carolina where she attended Campbell University.

Diane loved Campbell University so much she earned two degrees there. In 2017, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics, and in the Spring of 2022, she graduated with a Juris-Doctorate Degree from Campbell Law School.

As part of her legal education, Diane served as a legal extern for the North Carolina Community College System, Legal Aid of North Carolina, and the City of Durham’s Attorney’s Office.

A former member of Campbell Law’s distinguished advocacy program, Diane competed in the National Civil Trial Competition and Annual Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition. When Diane was president of Campbell Law’s Black Law Student Association, the chapter earned Chapter of the Year, a celebrated award among the southern region of black law students. Diane is currently a law clerk for Whitaker & Hamer PLLC. Most recently, she passed the North Carolina Bar Exam in March 2022.
