Career Search

There are many job and career resources available online. Check out some of the following websites recommended by the Graduate Programs for Success team.

Career Builder

CareerBuilder is a popular website for job searches. Employers post a wide variety of positions on CareerBuilder for job seekers to directly apply. Job seekers can upload their current resume which will be accessible to recruiters and companies that source candidates via resume databases.

CareerOneStop

This job information website is hosted by the U.S. Department of Labor. It includes a comprehensive list of training and educational resources, career exploration articles, and job seeker websites.

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

Google

By typing in “Jobs Near Me” or “Jobs in (city)”, Google will return a list of jobs posted via major job boards including ZipRecruiter, LinkedIn, Monster and others. Google for Jobs works like a job aggregator and will redirect visitors to the job posting and provide links to where a job seeker can directly apply. It’s always best to apply directly on the employer’s website.

Help Wanted

This website tends to be used by local employers for entry level, part time, or seasonal positions.

Hiring Our Heroes

This U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation job initiative helps veterans find employment after their military service.

Indeed

This job search engine pulls job information from employer job boards as well as allows for paid job postings to Indeed.com. Indeed owns many other career websites including SimplyHired.com.

Monster

Monster hosts a variety of job postings. Many positions featured on the website are entry level positions or jobs that do not require a formal college education. Similar to other large job boards, Monster features positions for job seekers to directly apply via Monster or they will redirect the job seeker to apply on the employer’s home website.

Pennsylvania CareerLink

Pennsylvania employers can post their jobs to the CareerLink job board for job seekers, job coaches, and unemployment offices to share with the job seeking clients they work with.

USA Jobs

This is a job board for career opportunities within the Federal government.

Veterans Affairs Careers

The Department of Veterans Affairs offers careers information for veterans seeking employment with the VA (VAForVets), VA Medical (VACareers), or Federal Government (FedsHireVets).

Zip Recruiter
