Reuel Ryman

Reuel D. Ryman, 95, a longtime resident of Hershey and Hummelstown, passed on October 28, 2021 in the Middletown Home. He was born June 30, 1926 in Dallas, PA, son of the late Marvin and Grace (Waters) Ryman.

Reuel was a 1944 graduate of the Milton Hershey School and a veteran of World War II. After the War, he married Lucille R. Poorman, and they raised a family of six children. Among his greatest joys was the love of his family and their cherished times together. He retired from the Hershey Foods Corporation. He was also a professional musician who performed for many people and occasions. In addition to his love of music, he enjoyed the outdoor life. He was an avid fisherman and shared his love of nature and fishing with people of all ages. Among his favorite places to fish were Stony Creek Valley, the Susquehanna River and Memorial Lake.

Mr. Ryman is survived by sons, Kerry, Douglas (Patricia), and Reuel II (Kathleen); daughters, Barbara Maroney (Marlin Marks) and Rhonda (Samuel) Hess; brother, Gerald Ryman; 7 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille (Poorman) Ryman; daughter, Lorraine Faber; and brother, Charles Ryman.
