Joseph C. Turzai

Joseph C. Turzai ’53, 86, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Irene Turzai.

Joseph Conrad Turzai, 86, of Hummelstown, passed away on January 29, 2022 in the Hershey Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

He was born on October 15, 1935 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Joseph and Angela (Jeouzvilitch) Turzai. Joe was a graduate of the Milton Hershey School and Elizabethtown College. He had been employed as a field engineer for the former Hughes Aircraft. Joe was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Hershey where he served as an usher for many years; former affiliations include the Hershey Rotary Club, Keystone Capital Chorus as well as numerous other barbershop quartets, and former volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.

Surviving is his wife, Irene (Long) Turzai; daughter, Susan (Gary) Frye of Palmyra; three sons, Joseph V (Elizabeth) Turzai of Mt. Joy, Michael (Lisa) Turzai of Frisco, TX, and Eric (Celia) Turzai of Elizabethtown; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; two sisters, Constance Patterson of Pittsburgh, Rita Hilliard of Butler; two brothers, William Turzai and Richard Turzai both of Pittsburgh.

Interment will be private in the Hershey Cemetery. There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering announced at a later date.
