Obituaries and Alumni Memorial Grove



The Alumni Memorial Grove, built in September of 1995 and located at the intersection of Route 322 and Meadow Lane, has been the site of many special events and festivities during the past few years. Each year at Homecoming, the MHS Alumni Association uses the Pavilion for its annual Memorial Grove Service when they pay tribute to their deceased brothers and sisters. During the summer months, the Pavilion has been used for Sunday Chapel Services, weddings, and photo shoots.

The use of the Pavilion is extended to Milton Hershey School®’s alumni, employees, and retirees.

Recent Obituaries & Service Information

Michael P. Sokolowski Sr. ’71, of Hainesport, N.J., passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at Samaritan Hospice following a long battle with pancreatic cancer. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, and again from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15, both at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 1603 Marne Highway, Hainesport. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hainesport. MHS Class of ’71 will be sending flowers. Obituary.

James Campbell ’70, no location available, passed away on December 13, 2015.

Harry E. Myrick Sr. ’50, of Lebanon, died on Saturday, May 13, 2017.

Richard Witmer ’52, died on December 5, 2011. MHS AR&P was notified in May 2017.

Robert C. Strickler ’53, of New Holland, passed away on May 13, 2017.

Wilfred Corse ’81, died on October 23, 2010.  MHS AR&P was notified in May 2017.
