William L. Wech
William L. Wech, Jr. William Leroy Wech, Jr., 64, of West Warwick, RI, formally of Shiremanstown and Benton, PA, passed away Monday, June 2, at home, following a long battle with lung cancer.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on June 5, 1943, Bill grew up in Plains, PA and Nescopecke, PA.
He was a graduate of Milton Hershey School, Hershey, PA, Class of 1961; was a graduate of Shippensburg State College, Shippensburg, PA, Class of 1963; and was a lifetime member of the West Shore Chapter Order of DeMolay, Camp Hill, PA.
He worked in the Food Service industry for many years in Ohio, New York City and Pennsylvania before retiring.
He had a passion for cooking, wood-working and the great outdoors, and his grandsons were his greatest joy.
He was the husband of the late Frances E. (Lindon) Wech; the son of the late William L. Wech Sr, and Martha (Hague) Wech and brother of the late George W. Wech.
He is survived by his daughter, Stacey L. and her husband, Michael J. Charnley, Sr.; and his grandsons, Michael, Jr. and Ethan William of West Warwick, RI, with whom he resided; a sister, Shirley (Wech) and her husband, David Kruppenbach of Shoemakersville, PA; a sister-in-law, Marion Wech of Stillwater, PA; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Saturday, June 7, 2008, at 12 Noon, in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut Street, Dillsburg, with the Rev. C. Ronald Burgard officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dillsburg Cemetery-Mountain Road.
A viewing will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon.
