William H. Smith
William H. Smith, Jr., 78, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 9, 2013 at York Hospital.
He was married to Blanche I. (Hess) Smith on November 1, 1958. Born August 2, 1935 in Lancaster, he was the son of the late William and Blanche Smith.
A Veteran of the Korean Conflict, Bill proudly served with the U.S. Navy. Bill was a graduate of Milton Hershey School and retired from Keystone Interior Systems, Inc., Reading where he worked as an estimator for commercial construction.
In addition to his wife of over 55 years, he will be lovingly missed by his children, Renee, wife of James H. Newswanger, of Lititz; Gina M. Boroughs, of Lancaster and William H. Smith, III, husband of Cindy, of New Holland; four grandchildren, Jeremy, Lauren, Lindsay and Bronwyn and three great grandchildren, Shawn, Taylor and Landon; a brother, Edward Smith and four sisters, Shirley, Carolyn, Judy and Audrey.
Funeral Services will be held at the Andrew T. Scheid Funeral Home, 320 Blue Rock Road, Route 999, Millersville, PA 17551 on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 10 AM.
In keeping with Bill’s wishes, the casket will be closed. Closed casket visitation will be held at Scheid’s on Monday, October 14, 2013 between 7 and 9 PM and also on Tuesday between 9 and 10 AM.
Interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster, with Military Honors.
