Walter H. Campbell
Walter Harvey Campbell Jr, 74, who has been a resident of Arcadia, FL for 29 years, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. Walter was born July 27, 1943 in Warren, Pennsylvania, son of the late Walter Harvey Campbell Sr., and Myrtle Alice (Campbell) Sly.
Walter attended the Milton Hershey School in Pennsylvania along with his brother, Bruce Campbell, where he graduated in 1962. Walter lived an active life, loved to golf, play pool, dance, and enjoyed riding motorcycles, horses and off-road vehicles. Walter was a member of the Pompano Beach Moose Lodge, Pompano Beach Florida and later transferred to the Arcadia Moose Lodge, in Arcadia, Florida.
In his younger years, Walter owned a successful locksmith business in Pompano Beach, Fl. Walter spent most of his working years in mental health and juvenile justice positions mentoring, teaching, supervising, transporting and caring for troubled adults and youth. Most recently Walter worked at AMI Kids Crossroads in Punta Gorda., a home and charter school for difficult to place teen boys in the Florida Foster system. His kindness and leadership was an example to all those he encountered. When not working, Walter could be found spending time with family and friends, often enjoying the outdoors.
Walter is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Shelby Jean Williams-Campbell, brother Bruce (Phyllis) Campbell of South Carolina, son Scotty Lee Campbell of Oregon, Stepson Michael (Casey) Williams of Arcadia, granddaughters Kayla, Kristin, Kierra, Cristal, Courtney, and Jennifer, grandsons Jason and Brandon and 7 great grandchildren. Services will be held at a later time.
