William R. Beyer of Norristown, 72, husband of Sharon L. (Sprague) Beyer, Harding BLVD, Norristown, died Wednesday, at Mercy Suburban Hospital, E. Norriton Twp.

Mr. Beyer was born on March, 9, 1943, in Danville, Montour Co., and was a son of the late Robert J. Beyer and the late Esther M. (Zollers) Beyer Steele. He was a graduate of Milton Hershey School, attended Hershey Jr. College, and earned a bachelor of arts degree in English literature from Washington & Jefferson College. Before he retired, Mr. Beyer was a psychiatric aid at Norristown State Hospital.

Mr. Beyer was a member of Norristown New Life Mennonite Church. He was a former member of Chelten Baptist Church, Upper Dublin Twp. In addition to his wife, Mr. Beyer is survived by his daughter, Laura, wife of Victor Abreu, Norristown; his grandsons, Matthew and Christopher Abreu; and his sister, Elsa, wife of Rev. Dr. Wayne Heintzelman, Womelsdorf.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 9th, at Norristown New Life Mennonite Church. Friends may call from 1:00 to 1:45 PM, Saturday, at church.
