Roger A. Pryor, 64, of Whitehall Rd., Emlenton, Pa. died unexpectedly Thursday Afternoon, May 31, 2012 at UPMC Hamot in Erie. Roger was born in Lewistown on Oct. 27, 1947.

He was the son of the late Leroy and Madeline Ryan Pryor and the stepson of Richard Garborick who survives in York. He was a 1965 graduate of Milton Hershey School.

Mr. Pryor was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Knox and throughout his years of membership held several church offices. He was a member of the National Republican Committee, a life member of the NRA as well as a member of the USJA. Mr. Pryor held Black Belts in Jujitsu, Judo and Bogota. He had served for several years as an asst. Boy Scout leader with Troop 47 in Knox. He was an avid reader and enjoyed playing the guitar.

Surviving in addition to his step father is his wife Connie L. Neely Pryor, whom he married in York on Feb. 14, 1980. Also surviving are two daughters, Stacy L. Sailor and her husband, Rodney, of Craley and Shawn R. Pryor of Dover; four grandchildren, two brothers, Alan and Jack Pryor, both of York; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Darlene Neely of Floyd, IA, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lester and Martha Neely. Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton from 6-8 PM Sunday and 1-3 and 6-8 PM Monday. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday from the funeral home with L.D.S. Church Elder Michael MacDonald officiating. Interment will be in Brandon Cemetery, Cranberry Twp., Venango County.
