STRICKLER Feb. 10, 1923-Feb. 21, 2000 Retired Navy Lt. Cmdr. Robert W. Strickler, 77, of La Mesa died Monday. He was born in York, Pa. Cmdr. Strickler was retired after working as a teacher at Bonita Vista Junior High School from 1967 to 1986. He served in the Navy from 1946 to 1966 and belonged to the Naval Academy Alumni Association and the Milton Hershey School Alumni Association.

Survivors include his former wife, Irene Strickler of La Mesa; daughter, Karen A. Barney of La Mesa; sons, Robert W. Strickler Jr. of Tampa, Fla., and Gary Strickler of Toms River, N.J.; brother, James Strickler of Albuquerque, N.M.; and four grandchildren.
