Richard F. Leiby of Hoffman Estates for 46 years

Richard F. Leiby, 86, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010, at Poplar Creek Nursing Home.

Born Jan. 19, 1924, in Elizabethtown, Pa., he grew up in the Milton Hershey School for Boys and Girls.

Richard served our country during World War II in the Navy from 1942 to 1946.

He married Armeda on Aug. 9, 1952.

Richard retired from teaching English at Roberto Clemente High School in 1990.

Richard will be remembered for his love of family, jazz and the St. Louis Cardinals.

He is survived by his three daughters, Lisa (Mike) Prafke, Nina (Todd) Vuglar and Tara (Dan) Gregus; and seven grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, if you care to, you can make a donation to your church or the American Cancer Society .

There will be no services.

In accordance with Richard’s wishes, his body was donated to science.
