Louis Carl Eddinger, 86, of Kannapolis, NC passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at Tucker Hospice House. Born Jan. 21, 1928, in Bethlehem, Pa., he was the son of the late Carl and Fern Kleintop Eddinger. He graduated from the Milton Hershey School for Boys and was of the Baptist faith. He served his country in the US Army, serving during the Korean War.

Earlier in his life, he worked for J.P. Stevens in Charlotte as a supervisor of telecommunications and retired from Kannapolis City Schools as media coordinator.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Phyllis Hargett Eddinger, to whom he was married Oct. 28, 1950. Also surviving him are his son, Barry Eddinger (Teresa) of Rockwell; daughter Amy Burris (Doug) of Kannapolis; brother Donald Eddinger of Campbelton, Pa.; and grandchildren Elizabeth Marlowe (Kip), Alana Plott (Jim), Joshua Eddinger, Candice Eddinger and Amanda Witherspoon; (Noah), as well as three great-grandsons; and three step-granddaughters.

Arrangements: Visitation is Saturday, Sept. 6 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with funeral at 2 p.m., also at the funeral home, with Rev. Thomas Hawkins, minister. Burial is Monday Sept. 8 at 12 p.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery.
