Kenneth W. High
Kenneth W. High, 80 of Crownsville, MD passed away peacefully on August 12, 2014.
He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia of 56 years, her son Curtis Trevor; her son David Williams, his wife Laurie and their three children – Erica, Nolan and Dana; and her daughter Julie Andersen Sawyers, her husband Shelby and their two children – Cody and Haley.
Ken was born in Tacoma Park, Maryland on March 5, 1934 to Paul Charles and Lottie High. He was the third of four brothers: Paul Charles, Robert Marks and Ronald Carlton. Ken graduated from the Milton Hershey School for Boys in Hershey, PA. He graduated from Dickenson College in 1955. He then entered the Navy where he was a Lieutenant JG and performed duties as an aviation navigator on an air craft carrier. He married the love of his life, Patricia, in 1957. It was in 1959 that he acquired the Lewis J. Andersen Company which eventually gave birth to the High, Sabatino, Huber Association, a successful food service sales organization.
Ken was a devoted family man. He was known for his kind spiritual nature. He served as an Elder for 10 years at the Severn Run Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Millersville, MD and was an integral part in the building up of the early church. Ken enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was truly a brilliant light in the world and will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends may gather at the Hardesty Funeral Home, 851 Annapolis Road, Gambrills, MD 21054 on Monday, August 18th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A celebration of his life will be held at the Severn Run Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 1624 Millersville Road, Millersville, MD 21108 on Tuesday, August 19th at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to either the Severn Run Evangelical Presbyterian Church or the Alzheimer’s Association online at . – See more at:
