John J. Bennett, 81, formerly of Allentown, died Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Lehigh Center, Lower Macungie Township where he had been residing. He was the husband of the late Kay (Rothenberger) Bennett.

Born in Reading, January 15, 1930, John was the son of the late Walter B. and Theresa (Piehl) Binasiewicz., John was raised at and graduated from The Milton S. Hershey School. He graduated from Temple University and earned his MBA from Lehigh University. He dedicated his career to Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. in Trexlertown working there for over 30 years. He retired in 1993 as Director, Corporate Financial Accounting. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Allentown.

Survivors: Children, Theresa B. wife of Dr. Walter W. Johnson of Schnecksville, Diane B. wife of Nader Abazarnia of Chandler, AZ, Michael J. Bennett and his wife, Colette of Frisco, TX, Amy L. wife of Michael A. McKernan of Media; brother, Walter A. Binasiewics and his wife, Catherine of Warminster; grandchildren, Adam, Lauren, Kate, Megan, Michael, Ian, Alyssa, Jenny and Jillian.

Service: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 11th & Washington Streets, Allentown with the Rev. Msgr. David L. James as Celebrant. Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the church foyer. Interment will follow the Mass at Resurrection Cemetery, Wescosville. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements.
