John Edwin Linko, 51, of Leisenring, Pa. died Thursday, March 3, 2016 at West Penn Hospital. He was born December 31, 1964 in Connellsville, the son of John Eugene Linko and the late Connie Rae (Fields) Linko. He was a graduate of Milton Hershey High School in the Class of 1982. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as a military police officer and also served in the National Honor Guard. After, he worked many years as a steelworker with U.S. Steel Irwin Works. He was a member of the Connellsville Police Auxiliary where he held the rank of Corporal, the Masons, the Moose Lodge 16, American Legion Post 121, American Legion Post 400 Carmichaels, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles 493. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church of Connellsville.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 12 years, Kelly Elizabeth (Hone) Linko; father, John Eugene Linko; two stepchildren, Vincent Paul Cossell, Sr. and his son Vincent Paul Cossell, Jr. of Uniontown and Gabrielle Elizabeth Fichter and husband Warren A. of Va.; sister, Shyrl-AN Linko-Santore and husband Shawn of Dawson and their son Jeremy Linko; two step-sisters, Karen Linko of Connellsville, and Terri Glessner and husband Roy of Portage, Pa. and their son Devin; two aunts, Aletha Klink-Yatsko and husband Robert ‘Tweety’ of New Salem and Betty Ann Hall of Wyo.; brother-in-law, Randy Hone at home and his beloved dogs, Sarah and Sassie.

In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Helen and John Linko; maternal grandmother, Thelma Fields Weir and an uncle, John Hall. Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held Monday at the funeral home at a time to be announced. Interment will follow at St. John Roman Catholic Cemetery.
