John Arthur Shive, 62, formerly of Allentown, died July 28, 2012 in the V.A. Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Lloyd A. and Dorothy A. (Brey) Shive. He was a Navy veteran during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Rhema Bible College and from the Milton Hershey School for Boys where he was Valedictorian. Survivors: Sons, Timothy and Joshua; daughters, Laura, Tara, Sarah and Andrea; sisters, Patricia Ann Grather, Diane M. Leiser and Beverly K. Hunsicker; 13 grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus. A viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will follow in the East Texas Cemetery.
