James E. Landis, 94, formerly of the Lebanon Valley Home, Annville died Monday June 27, 2011 in Stone Ridge Village, Myerstown.

He was the husband of the late Bertha R. Spitler Landis who died in 1991.

Born in Wormleysburg on August 8, 1916, he was the son of the late James H. and Anna Long Landis.

He retired in sales from Sears and was formerly employed by Elmer E. Plasterer accounting, the Farm Credit Bureau, and the Hershey Foods Corp.

He was a US Navy veteran of WW II.

Jim was 1934 graduate of Hershey High School and attended Penn State University.

He was a member of Tabor United Church of Christ, Lebanon, enjoyed searching genealogy for his family, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are a son James T. husband of Lynn Landis of Lebanon, three daughters Patricia Ann wife of Larry N. Bender, Sr. of Lebanon, Sarah Jane Manning of Tucson, AZ, Susan K. wife of James Black of Palm Harbor, Fla., seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister Margaret Donaldson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM from the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main Street, Annville.

Interment will be in Grand View Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 1-2 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
