Gerald “Jerry” W. Alleman, 70, of Lancaster, Pa., passed away on Friday, November 28, 2014 at Lancaster General Hospital.

He was the son of the late Ralph C. and Fern (Sears) Alleman.

Jerry graduated from Milton Hershey School in 1962.

He retired from G.C. Murphy in 2000. After his retirement he moved back to Lancaster County and recently retired from Walmart.

Jerry is a member of Chiques United Methodist Church.

Boy Scouts of America was a passion of Jerry’s for over 50 years. He received the Silver Beaver Award for his commitment to Scouting. He is a member of the Running Bull Tribe and Order of the Arrow. Jerry currently is the Weeblos program director at Camp Mack.

Jerry also volunteered at the YMCA, was previously President of the Residents’ Association at Conestoga View. Jerry enjoyed playing “Santa Claus.”

Jerry is survived by two brothers, Donald J. Alleman companion of Debra Tyndall of Mount Joy, and Ronald L. Alleman of Altoona; two sisters, Bonita A. Koch wife of Joseph of Washington Boro, and Patricia G. Alleman of Mount Joy; a niece, Tanya Heberling wife of Mark of Mountville; a nephew, Tony Koch husband of Tori of Mountville; and two grandnephews, Logan and Landon Heberling, whom he adored.

A Memorial Service honoring Jerry’s life will be held at Chiques United Methodist Church, 1215 East Main Street, Mount Joy on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 11 AM. The family will receive friends at the church before the service from 10 AM to 11 AM. Interment will follow at Mount Joy Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Pennsylvania Dutch Council, Boy Scouts of America, 630 Janet Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601 or Albright LIFE, 417 West Frederick Street, Lancaster, PA 17603.

The family of Jerry would like to thank Albright LIFE, DaVita Dialysis, Lancaster General Hospital 6 North, Dave Jones, and Tina Sears, for all the loving care and help they have provided Jerry over the years.
