Gary D. Westfall
YORK Gary D. ”Buddy” Westfall, 60, of York, PA went home to the Lord on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, from Manor Care South.
He was born in Duo, W.Va., on May 10, 1949, to the late Reytha L. (Prayter) and Estel L. Westfall.
Gary gradated with the class of 1968 from Milton Hershey High School.
He worked in fabrication as a welder for various companies. His most recent employment was with the Harley Davidson Final Assembly Plant in York.
He was a well established bluegrass musician who played with Ricky Skaggs and other artists. Gary was a member of White Rose Sr. Center.
Gary leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Carmen Usry and husband, John; sisters, Sandra Halcott and husband, Charles of York, and Gaytha Rife and husband, Lee of Newville; brother, Estel Westfall, Jr. of Carlisle; and nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by sister, Beverly Langley, and brother, Ronald Westfall.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 241 E. King St., York, with visitation starting at 9 a.m. Pastor Jeff Swanger will officiate.
Burial will be private. Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc., 822 E. Market St., York, is handling the arrangements.
