Frederick E. Owens
Frederick E. Owens Jr., 56, Harrisburg, passed away December 7, 2016.
He was predeceased by his father, Frederick E. Owens Sr., maternal grandfather, Willie R. McMorris Sr., and an uncle, Timothy A. McMorris.
Frederick began his education in the Harrisburg School District, graduated from the Milton Hershey School where he played football, basketball and ran track, and he attended Shippensburg University. He trained and received his CDL License in Baltimore, MD, and was employed by the City of Harrisburg, Department of Public Works. An accomplished flutist, he owned his first flute at an early age. He was also an avid reader and lover of music, especially jazz.
Surviving are his mother, Zenoria McMorris-Owens of Harrisburg; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth McMorris of Baltimore, MD; daughter, Fredequa Generet of York; aunts, Betty S. Brown, Joyce E. Carter, both of Baltimore, Inetha Johnson of Jessup, MD, Doreatha Coleman of Pensacola, FL; an uncle, Willie R. McMorris Jr. (Patricia) of Baltimore; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, December 16th, at Wallace Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 17th, at Wallace Funeral Directors with a viewing 10-11 a.m. Interment will be at William Howard Day Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to Cathedral of Saint Patrick, 212 State Street, Harrisburg, PA, 17101 and/or HACC Foundation, One HACC Drive, Harrisburg, PA, 17110.
