Dr. Dennis A. Hall, M.D., 78, of North Apollo, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022, in AHN-Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Aug. 6, 1943, in Arnold, he was a son of the late Robert “Bob” Hall and Frances (Kerr) Hall. Dennis was raised in Arnold, and at age six, he and his family moved to Lower Burrell. Dennis attended Lower Burrell schools until ninth grade, when two teachers recommended him to the Milton Hershey School for Boys to enable him to achieve his lifetime dream of becoming a doctor.

After graduating from Milton Hershey H.S., Dennis attended Ursinus College for pre-med, followed by the University of Pennsylvania. He interned at Hershey Medical Center, followed by a residency at Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh. While at Montefiore, he served as chief resident. Dennis’s career took him to California, where he worked as a researcher, clinician and instructor at Stanford University. He then entered private practice as a nephrologist (kidney specialist) in the Yuba City-Maryville area in California. Upon retirement, he relocated to North Apollo.

Dennis had many interests over the years, including reading, yard work, the enjoyment of art and music, and genealogy, where he wrote several family histories. Dennis enjoyed spending time at the Vandergrift Historical Society. He and his sister, Judy, created censuses of a number of cemeteries in the Apollo and Vandergrift area. In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his stepfather, Angelo Marcantonio; and his sister, Judy Pruett. Dennis is survived by his sister, Marilyn (Dennis) Risher, of Cuba City, Wis.; as well as nephews, a niece, great-nephews and great-nieces.
