Mr. Donald Pauly, 75, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Hospice of Lancaster County.

In his early years, he was raised in a family of eight siblings in Lewistown. The son of the late Albert and Mildred Pauly, he was a resident of New Holland, and later moved to Lancaster. Mr. Pauly attended and graduated from the Milton Hershey School, studying machine shop practice. After graduation, he worked for 38 years for the Sperry Division plant at New Holland, now Case New Holland. He was Product Test Supervisor during his last 19 years there.

While living in New Holland, he played softball & baseball for various teams and leagues and participated in many community organizations including the New Holland Jaycees, Garden Spot Football Booster Club, and the New Holland Park Board. After retiring from New Holland, Mr. Pauly enjoyed a second career in the local real estate business.

An avid golfer, Mr. Pauly was a longtime member of the Conestoga Country Club. During his time there, he served on the Board of Governors and as President. He pursued his quest for the perfect left-handed swing at numerous golf courses throughout the county and country. He was a Penn State football season-ticket holder, a Saint Louis Cardinals fan and followed many local sports teams. Mr. Pauly was also involved with the Milton Hershey School Alumni Association.

He is survived by two daughters, Sharon, wife of John Lynch, and Linda, wife of William Davis, three grandchildren, Katrina, Amanda and Kayla, his brother David Pauly and many close friends. Mr. Pauly was predeceased by his wife Patricia (Ranck) Pauly, to whom he was married for 35 years, and by two sisters and five brothers.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at The Groffs Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 528 West Orange Street, Lancaster, on Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m. with the Reverend John Lynch officiating.
