C. Bryan G. Smith
Charles Bryan Gilbert Smith, age 85, passed away May 22, 2012 at Methodist Hospital, Arcadia, CA.
He was born April 3, 1927 in Sybertsville, Luzerne County, PA and grew up at the Milton S. Hershey Orphanage boys.
Bryan was an honorably discharged U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. After the service he moved from PA to CA where he was a resident in Arcadia and Temple City for the last 53 years.
Later became a Professional cake decorator for the Hollywood stars. Bryan or AKA “Smitty” made cakes for: Elton John, Gloria Swanson, Harry Belafonte, Chuck Conners and many more celebrities.
He made the cake for the grand opening of Disneyland, CA in 1955 and Walt Disney’s 60th birthday cake.
Bryan is survived by his daughter – Debi Davis, sons – Michael Christian Smith, Bryan Robert Smith: 5 grandchildren – Jonathan Matthew Davis, Paul Michael Davis, Garrett Austin Smith, Michelle Christina Smith & Haley Anita Smith.
Visitations will be 1:00-5:00pm Thursday (May 31, 2012) at Stone Funeral Home 355 E. 9th St. Upland, CA. Graveside Service will be at Conyngham Union Cemetery, Sugarloaf, PA on Friday, June 8th 2012 at 1:00 pm.
