Arthur Calvin Eck
Arthur Calvin Eck, age 83, of Littleton, North Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Monday Feb. 2, 2015 at his residence.
He was an employee of IBM for 33 years, studied linguistics on his own including German, Russian, French and Spanish and was a lifelong student of the Bible, ordering his first Bible course at the age of seven.
Art was a loving father and husband and is survived by his wife of 26 years, Elizabeth Smart “Libby” Eck of Littleton, N.C.; three sons: Daniel Arthur Eck and his wife Terri of Lee’s Summit, Mo., Randall Paul Eck of Providence, R.I. and Kenneth David Eck and his wife Shelly Jo of Raleigh, N.C.; his daughter, Shirley “Kelly” Hartshorn and her husband Craig of Denver, Co.; his granddaughter, Acelin Claire Eck of Lee’s Summit, Mo. and the mother of his children, Doris Ann Eck of Denver, Co.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 until 8:30 p.m.at the funeral home. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, 2 p.m., Feb. 6 at Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment to follow in La Crosse Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Jeffrey Crane, Dr. Richard Gross and Pastor Ralph Fletcher for their care during Art’s illness.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Emmanuel Worship Center in La Crosse, Va or to the Community Home Care and Hospice of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.
