William Moore

William (Bill) B. Moore, 92, previously of Hershey, passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, at Masonic Village in Elizabethtown. Bill was born June 23, 1929, in Coatesville, PA.

He is a 1948 graduate of Milton Hershey School which he called home and was very near and dear to his heart. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After the Army, he dairy farmed for 20 years. He served as President of the Eastern Milk Producers for several years. He was a leader in both dairy and community 4-H. After dairy farming, he purchased and ran the Dairy Queen on Chocolate Avenue in Hershey for 21 years. Bill was an active member of the Friends Quaker Meeting in Harrisburg. In retirement, he loved building and flying remote-controlled airplanes. He belonged to the Keystone Radio Control Society (KRCS) and spent many hours flying and socializing with his friends at the airfield who all held a special place in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Moore (Freet) on January 6, 2014; and was also preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Linda Jones (Frank) of Hershey and Pattie Boyd (Bob) of Ridgway, CO; along with grandchildren, Jonathan Boyd, Will Jones, Katie Jones, Frank Jones III, and Tyler Jones, and nine great-grandchildren.
