William E. Simmons ’64, 76, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 at his home. He was the husband of Ann Simmons.

William Emmett Simmons, 76, of Amissville, VA, passed away on December 6, 2021 at his home.

He was born June 9, 1945 and was preceded in death by his father and mother William Banie and Rachel Ansell Simmons.

Mr. Simmons had a successful career, an architect, superintendent, and stone carver. He was artistic and creative. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for boating, fishing, and hunting. He loved dogs and trained them professionally

He was a loving husband and father and is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ann Holmes Simmons; his three children and four grandchildren, Ashby Simmons Henderson, William Bainie Simmons and Crystal, and Amy Neale Hutcherson. Seamus Henderson, Cierra Simmons, Ryder Simmons, and Lillian Hutcherson.

The family will receive family and friends on Friday, Dec. 10 from 1:00 PM until the funeral service begins at 2:00PM at the Amissville United Methodist Church. A graveside service will follow at the Hitt Family Cemetery,
