William “Bill” R. Linsley
William “Bill” R. Linsley ’38, 93, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2013. He was the husband of the late Inez Linsley.
Services for William “Bill” R. Linsley, 93, of Tyler will be on Friday, June 14, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Dahn officiating.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery in Tyler under direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Bill passed away June 10, 2013, in Tyler. He was born March 4, 1920, and was raised at the Hershey Boys Home in Hershey, Pa., where he lived with other orphan boys.
Bill was a great man of faith and sometimes you didn’t know if he was praying or sleeping. He was a graduate of the University of Omaha with a bachelor’s degree in business. He worked 30 years for Northern National Gas, in Omaha, Neb., working his way up to personnel manager, and then began a new career with Delta Drilling, in Tyler. There he retired as top management of personnel.
Bill loved mentoring others and especially loved his wife and children. He and wife, Inez, led an active life, flying their airplane, riding horses, collecting antiques, and participating in the Tyler Newcomer’s Club, as well as enjoying activities with their neighbors at the Villages on Lake Palestine. Bill was also a past member of Marvin United Methodist Church.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Linsley. He is survived by his loving family including his daughter, Elena, of Tyler, and son, John, of California; and by a host of many friends.
