Thomas “Tom” K. Bryson
Thomas “Tom” K. Bryson ’65, 77, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. He was the husband of the late Gloria (Beck) Bryson.
Thomas Kent Bryson, 77, died peacefully August 14, 2024, at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. A former resident of Orlando, FL, he recently resided at Ecumenical Senior Living Community, Harrisburg.
Born on October 18, 1947, Tom was the son of the late Jane and Cleon Bryson of Columbia, PA, and was raised for 5 years by the late Marie and Leo Kaufhold of Columbia.
Tom entered the Milton Hershey School in 1955 and graduated in 1965.
Tom served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. After discharge, he became a federal employee with the Treasury Department. He retired from US Customs.
Tom was an active member of Masonic Lodges in Virginia and Florida, as well as a number of affiliated organizations.
He is survived by his half-sister, Doris M. Smith and his sister, Marie (Bryson) Libhart; nephews and nieces Kevin and Ronald Mcclair, Stephen and David Libhart, Donald and Robert Smith, Mary Jane Demmy, Louise White and Debra Pelen; along with numerous cousins, great-nephews and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria (Beck) Bryson and his half brother, Robert Mcclair.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Shriner’s Children Hospital at Donate to Shriners Hospitals for Children® (lovetotherescue.org) or to charities of your choice.
