Stephen J. Usher ’61, 79, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at The Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Virginia G. Messer. 

Stephen J. Usher, 79, of Bernville, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at The Reading Hospital. He was the loving husband to Virginia G. (Messer). Born in Reading, Stephen was the son of the late LeRoy Usher, and Julia (Metivier) Usher. Stephen graduated from Milton Hershey High school and went on to work as a Draftsman for Orr & Sembower, before starting his own carpentry business until retirement. In his younger days he was a member of the Flying Dutchman Ski Club and enjoyed Karaoke with his many friends. In addition to his wife Virginia, Stephen is survived by his sisters, Yvonne Greenwood, and Cecile Bechtel and many nieces and nephews and his faithful fur baby Abby. He was predeceased by his first wife Betty Stoudt and his sister Rita Schoener.
