Ronald E. Stebick

Ronald E. Stebick, age 80, of Liberty Borough, died August 21, 2020, at LGAR Health & Rehabilitation Center of Turtle Creek. Born October 27, 1939, in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Drost) Stebick and the husband of Lee N. (Shevke) Stebick for over 51 years.

Ron was retired from UPMC Medical Center, where he was an accountant. After retirement, he went to work as an office manager for Dr. Staley Pollack. Ron was a graduate of Milton Hershey School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, during the Cold War and served on a Destroyer during the Bay of Pigs in Cuba. Ron was also a military policeman and a storekeeper. He was a member of St. John The Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church of McKeesport. Ron was also a member of the former Elks of Wilkins Twp. He enjoyed gardening and sharing the bounty, especially his prize tomatoes. Ron was an avid bowler and fisherman. He especially enjoyed Walleye fishing. He also loved sports, although the Pittsburgh Steeler’s were his favorite. Ron will always be remembered for sharing his words of wisdom and often quoted, “There’s the right way, the wrong way, and the Stebick way!”

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his son, Ronald A. of Liberty Borough; nieces, Debbie Schmidt, and Lisa Lee both of The Villages, FL; and pet cat, Cesare’ Valentino.

Along with his parents, Ron was also preceded in death by his half brother, John Bonetsky; and pet dog, “Frisky.”
