Richard A. Forney

Richard A. Forney ’63, of Warrington, Pennsylvania, passed away on Jan. 14, 2025.


Richard Arthur Forney, born on March 13, 1945, in Parkland, PA, passed away on January 14, 2025, in Warrington, PA. Richard, affectionately known as “Dick” by his friends, was a devoted husband to Sara (Sadie Anne) and a loving father to his children, Richard Vincent Forney and Anna Maria Forney Long and son-in-law Larry Long, and Rebecca Burd and son-in-law Marlin Burd and Joseph Edward Cole JR and daughter-in-law Shelly. He was also a proud grandfather to Richard V. Forney, Jr. and Michael A. Forney, Cam Anthony Long, Amelia Long (spouse Jay Hartenstein), Abby Long, Olivia Long, Sadieanne Cole, Charlie Cole, Victoria Cole, Joseph Edward Cole III, as well as a great-grandfather to Jackson Richard Fiss Long, Layla Hartenstein, and Silas Hartenstein. Also surviving is
Dawn Downey-Forney and her daughter Danielle.

Richard had a fulfilling career with PECO, where his hardworking nature and friendly demeanor left a lasting impression on his colleagues. He enjoyed spending his leisure time fishing, taking long walks in his neighborhood, traveling to Tennessee with Sara, tending to his garden, and crafting beautiful birdhouses. Fishing was his greatest passion, and he cherished the moments spent by the water.

Richard was a man of great character, known for his willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need. He had a positive impact on the lives of many and was always ready to share a smile or a helping hand.

His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be dearly missed.
