M. Luther O’ Shell

M. Luther O’Shell, 82, of Palmyra passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 in Greensburg after having recently moved. Born February 16, 1940 in Beccaria Township, he was a son of the late Samuel Walter and Della Mae (Pearce) O’Shell.

The widower after 58 years of marriage of Lois A. (Albert) O’Shell since October 12, 2019, he was also preceded in death by a grandson Adam Sorrels and siblings Walter O’Shell, Arlene Clark, Chester O’Shell, Delmont O’Shell, James Snapp and Esther O’Shell and half brother John McCusker. Retired from Quaker Oats, Shiremanstown, he was a member of Campbelltown United Methodist Church, the PA Army National Guard from 1960 – 1966 and a volunteer at Camp-Can-Do. Luther was a former Scout Master of Troop 26, and a life member of Milton Hershey School Alumni, Penn State University Alumni and Lebanon County Historical Society.

Surviving are daughters Deborah A. Halterman (Allan) of New Stanton and Bonnie J. Sorrels (Allen Leibich) of Cleona; grandchildren Ryan Halterman (Cassandra Alexander), Shannon Christner (Braden), Melissa Whitsel (Joshua) and Michelle Sorrels; great grandchildren Aria Halterman, Scarlett Halterman, Penelope Halterman, Paisley Christner, Bentley Christner, Layken Christner, Clover Whitsel, Milo Whitsel, Frances Whitsel and Delilah Whitsel; and sister Caroline Currie.
