John P. Rosarius ’56 passed away on July 8, 2025.
The family of John Philip Rosarius, announce his passing on July 8, 2025. He was born on July 15, 1938, in Pittsburgh and was the son of the late Paul F. and Alma Fritz Rosarius.
He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife and best friend of 65 years, Artene Pospistle Rosarius; his daughter, Etaine Sternberg (Chris); two grandchildren, Helen and PauI Sternberg; his brother, Max F. Rosarius; and many special nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Jeanne McKenzie, Atma (Virginia) Zambrano; and brother, Paul M. Rosarius. He attended Mitton Hershey School and graduated in the class of 1956. After graduation, he entered an intern program with Westinghouse Atomic Fuel Department, Cheswick, and continued to be employed by them until he was drafted into the Army, in 1961. He served his country for two years and received an honorable discharge in 1963. Upon return from the service, he joined his brother, Max, in business, and then afterwards continued working on his own. He was the owner and President of MFR Car Care, lnc., RO-MO Enterprises, lnc. and EHP Enterprises, lnc. John was a very friendly guy, and it seemed no matter where he went, there was someone who wanted to stop and talk with him. He was always more than happy to comply. John was a member of Springdate United Presbyterian Church for over 65 years. He loved his family dearly and was always ready to do his best to please them. His grandchildren were the “apple of his eye.” They visited every summer for a weekly vacation. During summer months for 16 years, they traveled together to the New Jersey shore. Family photos of them show infants happily playing in the sand and then as they got older yearly pictures of them jumping in the waves. When they were happy, he was happy. Through the years, family dogs always played an important role in both his and Artene’s Lives. He was fondly known as “Boneman” by many because he was always ready to hand out treats to his furry friends.
Arrangements are being handled by THE CHARLES B. JARVIE (SPRINGDALE) FUNERAL HOME INC., and are private to his immediate family.
