John N. Clevenstine

John N. Clevenstine, 86, spouse of Margaret (Yeoman) Clevenstine, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, December 21, 2018 in the Phoenixville Hospital. He was born, December 26, 1931 in Royersford to the late Harvey and the late Alma (Schrack) Clevenstine.

He graduated from Hershey’s Industrial School in 1949. A lifelong resident of Royersford, John was a member of Royersford Baptist Church. He was active as a choir member, the financial secretary and Sunday School teacher. John retired from Diamond Glass and also enjoyed working for I Got It @ Gary’s. His love of softball put him on various leagues for the church and Diamond Glass. It was not uncommon to see him on the golf course too. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War and was active helping others near home. John enjoyed playing guitar and woodworking. He loved his family and community.

John leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Margaret Clevenstine, two children: John N. Clevenstine, Jr. (Oracle, AZ) and Deborah Clevenstine of Sullivanville, NY. One sister: Sally Sites (Royersford), Five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Predeceased are his two children: David and Mark, five siblings: George Clevenstine, Ethel Prindle, Lawrence “Jim” Clevenstine, Lois Oaks and Mallard Clevenstine. A Memorial Service will be held at Royersford Baptist Church on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11 AM. Friends and family may visit with the family following the service during the luncheon. The Rev. Dave Brown will be officiating. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made in his memory to the Royersford Baptist Church Building Fund, 452 S. Lewis Rd. Royersford PA 18468.
