James R. Cannon

James Cannon ’62, 79, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at his home. 

James Ralph Cannon, age 79, of Hampstead, Maryland passed away on August 20, 2023 at his home. Born in Dundalk, Maryland, he was the son of Raymond Cannon and Sina (Willis) Kelly.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Jim attended grade school and high school at Milton S. Hershey School in Hershey, PA. After graduation, he returned to Maryland to attend Towson State where he earned a degree in English Literature. He worked at General Motors for 38 years, until he retired and settled in Hampstead. Jim loved Annapolis, St. Michaels and Ocean City. He loved being by the ocean or the bay. Jim also loved visiting and spending time in Hershey, PA.
      
Jim is survived by his sons, Carl Cannon and wife, Karen Cannon and Ryan B. Cannon and wife, Anna Cannon; daughter, Susan Hofmeister; granddaughter, Lillian Grace Hofmeister; and grandsons, Franco James Cannon, Tyler McHale Hofmeister and Cole Ryan Cannon.
