James “Jim” H. Firestone
James “Jim” H. Firestone ’58, 84, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024. He was the husband of Marge Firestone.
James Henry Firestone passed peacefully with his wife by his side on May 23, 2024 in Hilton Head Island, SC at the age of 84. Also known as Jim, Dad or Pops he was born on April 20, 1940 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and spent the majority of his life in Catasauqua, Pennsylvania. He was the son of John and Ellen Firestone.
Jim began his working years as a toolmaker at Western Electric in Allentown, Pennsylvania and retired after over 30 years from AT&T as a supervisor in 1989. He then went on to acquire his real estate license, along with part-time work at Valley Central Animal Hospital and Iron Lakes Country Club where he also enjoyed his favorite pastime of Golf with his many friends and especially his favorite partner, his wife Marge. He was also an avid sports fan, youth baseball coach and was a 3 sport athlete in his school age years.
He was a dedicated family man and is survived by his loving wife, Marge (Schubert) Firestone, his children Ellen Firestone, Michael Firestone and wife Cristin, and his grandchildren Michael O’Boyle, Ella Firestone and Mckenna Firestone. Jim had many nieces and nephews.
Family members will remember him for his sense of humor, always being there to help, his love for baseball especially the Yankees and Phillies, teaching us all to golf (or at least trying) and his enjoyment of five o’clock Happy Hour.
A private memorial service was held. A special thanks to Harbor Cove and Intrepid Care for taking great care of Jim in his final days. Please have a toast or round of golf in his memory.
