Harry I. Davis (Irv) III

Harry I. Davis (Irv) III ’62, 78, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at his home. He was the husband of V. Joy Davis.

Harry I Davis (Irv) III of the Town of Newburgh, entered into rest on Saturday, January 14th, 2023. He was 78, and a graduate of Milton Hershey School for Boys class of 1962. Son of the late Harry I. and Nellie (Zimmermann) Davis, II, he was born on April 2, 1944, in Altoona, PA.

Harry, a long-time area resident, was a retired motor coach driver with Coach Tours, Danbury, CT. Earlier in his career he was assistant manager for Firestone, Newburgh until 1995. Harry was a long-time member of the Leptondale Bible Church. He enjoyed model railroading and walking the tracks to collect dated nails looking for personally important years. He loved to read about history, especially Gettysburg. Family including his church family was very important to Harry. He was an avid Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, and Penn State Football fan.

Survivors include his wife, V. Joy Davis; a son, John T. Davis of the Town of Newburgh, three daughters, Judy Jo (Jason) Bullis of Ilion, NY, Kathleen Alynn (Kamran) Davis of Flagstaff, AZ, and Elaina Rose (David) Givens of Tonawanda, NY; a sister, Nicki Bibbo of Newton, MA; four grandchildren, Katie Beth, Mitchell, Thomas and Johnny; and three nieces. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Joanne Malessa.

Private cremation has taken place at cedar Hill Crematory. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 11:30 am at the Leptondale Bible Church 1771 Route 300, Newburgh, NY 12550, with Pastor Michael O’Dowd officiating. Friends and family may call prior to the Service from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the Church. A Repast will be hosted after the Service, at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Harry’s memory, to the Leptondale Bible Church, at the above address.
