Harry Eberly

Harry M. Eberly, 91, of Annville, passed away on February 23, 2021 at ManorCare in Chambersburg. Born December 26, 1929 in York, he was the son of the late William A. Eberly, Sr. and Mary Linebaugh Eberly.

Pastor Eberly was a graduate of the Milton Hershey School, Lebanon Valley College in 1965 and Lancaster Theological Seminary in 1969. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He had served as a pastor at Ender-Powells Valley, Assistant from 1961-1962; Lickdale Circuit from 1962-1964; Hershey First UMC, Associate from 1964-1976; Hummel’s Wharf Christ Community Church from 1976-1979; and Grantville from 1979-1995.  He retired in 1995. 

His memberships include the First United Methodist Church in Hershey, The Central PA Conference of the United Methodist Church, Brownstone Lodge #666 F&AM where he had also served as Chaplain, Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Temple Shrine and served on the Zembo Chaplain Corps, and the Hershey Shrine Club.

Surviving are his son, Douglas M. Eberly and his wife, Dee, of Marysville; daughter, Teresa R. Hutcheson and her husband, Bill, of Middletown; 5 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Thomas and Floyd Eberly; and sister, Dawn Spangler.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, who passed on February 17, 2021; and his brother, William Eberly.
