Harold A. Boyer

Harold A. Boyer, 90, of Chambersburg, passed away December 11, 2020 in Magnolias Memory Care of Chambersburg. He was the husband of the late Rachel E. (Fields) Boyer, who died  December 28, 2013.

Born in Chester, PA, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Anna Elizabeth (Wenger) Boyer.

Following his education at the Milton Hershey Industrial School, he joined the Air Force serving in the 1090th  Special Reporting Group. He was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant in 1955 having served as a mechanical and loading instructor of special weapons at Sandia Base, Albuquerque, NM. He then took employment at Letterkenny Army Depot as an electronic technician retiring after 32 years of service.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Chambersburg where he served as a  teacher for the men’s Sunday School Class. He was also a member of St. John’s Lodge # 260, F&AM and enjoyed his garden and apple orchard.

Surviving are 2 sons: David L. Boyer, Sr. and his wife, Evelyn of Spring Run, and Daniel L. Boyer and his wife, Ann, of Falling Waters, WV; a daughter-in-law, Carrie Boyer, of Greencastle; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by a son, Rodney W. Boyer, a brother, Charles Boyer and a sister, Isabelle Scott.
