Gerald L. Ryman

Gerald L. Ryman ’48, 91, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at UPMC West Shore Hospital. He was the husband of the late Margaret Ryman.

Gerald Leo Ryman, 91 of Dillsburg and formerly of Lebanon, passed away Sunday morning, April 10th, 2022 at UPMC West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg, PA.

He was born Monday, August 11th, 1930 in West Wyoming, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Marvin and Grace Waters Ryman. He was the widower of his late beloved wife, Margaret “Maggie” E. Batdorf Ryman. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Charles Ryman, of Michigan and Reuel Ryman, of Hummelstown, PA.

Gerald was a graduate of the Milton Hershey School and was a retired Maintenance employee for the Federal Government, having worked for the former Olmsted Air Force Base and  Defense Mapping Agency where he retired in 1985.

Gerald is survived by his children: Kelly Puccetti and her husband, Clarence (Dean), of Dillsburg; Kim Roberts, and her husband Ron, of Broad Run, VA and Lex Ryman, of Lebanon.  3 Granddaughters and 7 Great-Grandchildren. 

Gerald loved his sports on TV,  apple pie with ice cream, his dog Misty, tinkering with electronics, but he especially loved his family.  He was never short on telling us how proud he was of all of his children and grandchildren. He loved cars, never gave up an opportunity to take a ride in a fast car or convertible.n

He loved taking little excursions and morning drives with his beloved wife Maggie. He loved having his daily breakfast with his buddies. He was a unique man and made friends everywhere he went.
