George A. Lalich
George A. Lalich ’47, 83, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2013 at Hazleton General Hospital. He was the husband of Dorothy Lalich.
George A. Lalich, 83, of North James Street, Hazleton, died Thursday evening at Hazleton General Hospital.
Born in Hazleton on Dec. 6, 1929, he was the son of the late Andrew and Veronica (Vozar) Lalich. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen.
He was a graduate of Milton S. Hershey High School, class of 1947. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by General Foam as a truck driver. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a member of the former Holy Trinity Slovak Roman Catholic Church and a current member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Hazleton.
Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy C. Hama, to whom he had been married for the past 55 years; sons, George M. Lalich of Hazleton and David Lalich and his wife, Mary, of Virginia; daughters, Diane and her husband, Carl Manfredi, of Hazleton, and Dorreen Lalich of Hazleton; his grandchildren, Lauren and Matthew Manfredi; David, Christopher, Steven and Courtney Lalich; his sister, Ann Orvaec of Hazleton; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the John J. Pusti Funeral Home Inc., 480 W. Broad St., Hazleton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Hazleton, at 10 a.m. A public visitation will be held Sunday at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
