Frederick Dewalt

Frederick H. Dewalt, 87, of Bloomsburg, died Saturday, February 6, 2021 at St. Thomas Post-Acute and Rehabilitation Center in Berwick.  Born in Berwick on October 25, 1933, he was a son to the late Harry T. and Marie T. (Markle) Dewalt.

Fred was a graduate of the Milton Hershey School.  Following his graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, in which he proudly served from 1953-1957.  In August of 1960, he married the former Joyce A. Rupert, with whom he would raise his family and share 36 years of marriage.  Frederick was a long time employee of the Press Enterprise.  He spent many of his 55 years there working as a pressman.  He was a long time member of Berwick Assembly of God and had also attended Shiloh Bible Church.    Fred was a hardworking man who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandson.  He was also an avid Penn State and Dodgers fan. 

Surviving Fred are his children:  Mark Dewalt and wife, Laura, of Berwick and Gwen Barnes and husband, Brett, of Elysburg; grandchildren:  Lindsey Seuren and husband, Greg, Megan Rybek and husband, Ryan, Ashley Dewalt, Kelsey Dewalt,  and Kayla Crouse and husband, Dakota; great-grandson:  Noah Seuren; and sister:  Peggy Diehl.

Fred was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce, who passed in 1996.  Also preceding him was a son, Timothy Dewalt, and brothers:  Ronald Dewalt and Richard Dewalt.
