Edwin “Ed” J. Piasecki

Edwin “Ed” J. Piasecki ’42, 98, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Oak Hill Village of Middletown. He was the husband of the late Irmgard Weeber Piasecki.

Edwin “Ed” Piasecki, 98, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Oak Hill Village of Middletown. Ed was born on November 2, 1924 in Philadelphia, one of 10 children of the late Zygmont Piasecki and the former Louise Hubbard Piasecki. Orphaned at an early age, Ed had the good fortune to attend the Hershey Industrial School graduating in 1942. Ed continued his education at the Hershey Jr. College, U.S. Naval Academy and Syracuse University. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II followed by a 22 year career with the U.S. Army. His tours of duty included Japan, Korea, Germany and Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star. After retiring from the Army as a Major in 1969, Ed moved to Hershey where he worked for a number of local trucking companies.

In retirement, Ed was an active member of the Milton Hershey Alumni Association. He also enjoyed participating in many programs offered by the Mohler Senior Center. Ed was preceded in death by his wife Irmgard Weeber Piasecki, his son Karl Piasecki as well as all of his siblings. He is survived by his sons Thomas Piasecki and wife Kathy and Eddie Piasecki and wife Intam. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Oak Hill Village who cared for him during his time of residence.
