Doris K. Gingrich

Doris K. Gingrich, 88, Honorary Member, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Ken Gingrich.

Doris Katherine Gingrich, 88, of Hummelstown, passed away on August 8, 2020 in the Hershey Medical Center. She was born April 9, 1932 in Wyomissing, daughter of the late James and Katherine (Gerspach) Wunderly. Doris graduated from Reading HS 1950 and Reading School of Nursing 1953. She was the Head Nurse for the Milton Hershey School until retiring. She was a member of the Milton Hershey School Honorary Alumni Association, Faith United Church of Christ, Grantville and the Reading School of Nursing Alumni Association.

Doris is survived by her husband, Kenneth Gingrich; daughter, April (Roger) Alleman; son, James (Laura) Gingrich; grandson, Joseph Gingrich; granddaughter, Emily Gingrich and sister, Patricia Riegel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Barbara Nelson.

Internment service will be on Friday, August 14th at 9AM in the Hershey Cemetery. A visitation and memorial service will follow in the Faith United Church of Christ, 117 N Faith Rd., Grantville at 10 and 11 AM respectively. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to U.C.C. Food Pantry 117 N Faith Rd,, Grantville, PA 17028.
