Dale E. Clever

Mr. Dale E. Clever, Sr., 77, of Maple Street, Waynesboro, PA passed away Wednesday morning, December 25, 2019 in Quincy Village Retirement Home.

Born August 8, 1942 in Waynesboro, PA he was the son of the late Herman and Margaret (Fitz) Clever.

Mr. Clever graduated from the Milton Hershey School, Hershey, PA with the Class of 1960.

He and his wife of over 55 years, Anna (Rowe) Clever, were married December 19, 1964 in Waynesboro.

Mr. Clever was employed at Caslon Press before starting Clever Advertising and Printing in 1976 alongside his wife and son, Mike.

He was a long-time member of The Owls Club, Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15, and other social clubs in Waynesboro. Mr. Clever coached American Legion and Waynesboro Villagers baseball teams. Mr. Clever enjoyed sports betting, horse racing, and traveling, especially to Las Vegas and the beach.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children Dale Clever, Jr., Mike Clever both of Waynesboro and Candi Saxmann of Ocean City, MD; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three siblings, Terry Clever of Hagerstown, MD, Jerry Clever (Liane) of Chambersburg, PA and Paula Grove (Dick) of Clear Spring, MD and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Betty Jenkins, Lee Clever, Carl Clever, Beverly Grove, and Herman Clever.
