Dale A. Yost

Dale A. Yost ’61, 80, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Arden Courts in Harrisburg. He was the husband of Sharon (Laughman) Yost.

Dale Albert Yost, aged 80 years, 9 months, 14 days, of Lewisberry/Mechanicsburg, passed away on Saturday, July 20th, at Arden Courts, Harrisburg.

Dale was born October 6th, 1943 to Albert P. Yost and Esther M. (Daihl) Yost, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his former wife, Sharon (Laughman) Yost, sons, David Albert Yost (Charlotte Bishop), Jonathan Dale Yost and Anthony Lynn Yost (Bridget Leach), granddaughters, Rose-Lynn Yost, and Ariel Bushman (David Bushman). Also, very close and dear friends, Ernest Barbush, Roy Seizas, and Michael & Ann Haugh.

Dale graduated from Milton Hershey School, class of 1961 and was a member of the Milton Hershey School Alumni Association. After graduation, he spent 6 years in the Army Reserves and started working for the Federal Government which led to a 40 year career when he retired in 2003.

He was a 50+ year member of the Zembo Temple and the Zembo Shriners. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, and Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and the American Legion Post 109.

Dale loved to sing, starting with the Glee Club at Milton Hershey School and in the church choirs throughout his life. He was a member of Christian Life Assembly Church, Camp Hill.

Dale had a gift of conversation and would talk to anyone. He was most proud of his 3 sons and would talk about them whenever possible. He was a strong, loving, and supportive father and would go out of his way to provide and care for his family. He will be missed more than words can say.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate Dale’s life on August 7th, at Christian Life Assembly, 2645 Lisburn Rd, Camp Hill, PA 17011. Visitation 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Services 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. followed by a luncheon until 2 p.m.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
