A. Bruce Rider

Albert Bruce Rider ’73, 66, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at his home. He was the husband of the late Mary K. Rider.

Albert Bruce Rider, formerly of the New Cumberland-York area, passed away at home in Lubbock, Texas of cancer on February 3, 2022 at the age of 66 years. Bruce, as everyone called him, was born June 17, 1955 in Towanda, Pennsylvania to the late Albert McClellan Rider and Anna Jean Kercher Rider. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary K. Rider, in 2019. He is survived by sisters, Faith Rider and Dawn Gross, both of York, PA, and Gail Rider Craig of Yocumtown, PA; his daughter, Jessica, of Texas, sons, Allen of Nebraska; Philip of Texas and many grandchildren, friends and extended family. Bruce was a graduate of Milton Hershey School class of 1973 and later enlisted into the Army. He was employed by Schneider Trucking. He enjoyed country music, socializing with friends, reading and watching football games. Bruce chose to be cremated and asked that his ashes be scattered in the apple orchard of his sister Gail and brother-in-law, Robert Craig. This will occur in April and will include a small memorial service at that time.
