Robert W. Robinson
Robert W. Robinson, a resident of Doylestown, Pa. for the past 43 years, originally from Philadelphia, passed away Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at home surrounded by his family members.
Rob was the beloved husband of Maureen L. Sullivan-Robinson. The couple had enjoyed 55 and a half wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Philadelphia, he was preceded in death by his father, Robert W. Robinson; mother, Pauline (Lauer) Robinson; brothers, Baby Robert, Thomas B., John W. and James A.; sister, Jean G. McCarthy (John); and grandsons, Robert T. and Thomas Robinson.
Robert attended Milton Hersey School for Boys, known as the Home Boys. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
He worked in communication and later worked for Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania, AT&T and Lucent as a Lucent technologist. He was a pioneer.
Rob enjoyed his vegetable garden, for which he was known for his tomatoes. He liked fishing. His greatest love was his family. Rob was a man who wanted very little but gave so much of himself. He often said ‘I’m a very rich man; I have my wife, children, and a place to go every day to work.’
Rob is survived by his wife, Maureen L. Sullivan-Robinson; his children, Colleen D. Furnette (Fred), Robert T. Robinson, Terriann M. Freeston, Christopher T. Robinson; his grandchildren, Michael Read, Megan and Benjamin Freeston, and Robert G. Marcy (Elizabeth); three great-grandchildren, Maya, Robby, and Annelise; along with two sisters, Ruth Long and Margaret Lewis; and a brother, George Robinson.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing from 10 a.m. until his funeral service at noon on Friday, Dec. 19, at Campbell and Thomas Funeral Home, 905 Second Street Pike, Richboro, PA 18954. Interment with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
